Ready to Recharge?

So... how have your holidays been going? I've had a number of discussions with clients this morning who have mentioned that they are finally now just starting to unwind for the holidays. For many of us last week was a blur of last minute shopping, winding up business for the year, getting the house in order for visitors or preparing to travel.

My Christmas was wonderful - full of visits with family and friends, and most important to me, watching my son enjoy his first Christmas. His joy, wonder and curiosity was absolutely infectious! It has also caused me to really slow down this week - to enjoy and to recharge - rather than to try to cram to many things into too short a space. And I have to say that it feels amazing and has actually made me more productive during my one day back here in the office. I'm looking forward to several more days off with more time to recharge.

Are you ready to recharge? What commitments have you made for 2006 in terms of recharging your battery? Are you starting to lay the groundwork, and walk the talk? What if you took a few hours off to yourself today - see how that will fill up your stores again.

What do you want to create in your life in 2006?

This is an opportune time to reflect back on 2005 and to celebrate the things that you are happy about achieving or being. It is also a wonderful time of year to start looking ahead to the New Year and set some intentions for what you wan to create in your life for 2006.

My request for you is to take some quiet time over the coming weeks and think about what YOU want to create in your life for 2006. Wayne Dyer's book, the Power of Intention, is a fantastic resource to draw on, and here are some additional questions to think about:

  • Envision what "balance" in your life will look lie for 2006. What picture comes to mind? What colors? Smells?
  • What is your slogan for the new year? What do you want to fill your life with - ease, abundance, trust, prosperity?
  • Reconnect with your five most important priorities in your life. How have you been honoring them? How will you honor them in 2006?
  • Set some goals for 2006 - Ask yourself : "What do I want to achieve? What don't I want in my life? What will I say "yes" to? What do I want more of? What will I say "No" To?"
  • What will I do to mark my progress? Celebrate my successes? Who can support me through the process, and support me to get back on track if needed?

This is by no means, an exhaustive list, and I hope that it will raise some other questions for you to think about as you look ahead at creating what you want for 2006.
