How often do you recharge your batteries? If you had to rate your battery power at the moment, where would you put it?
Just as our car needs a regular tune up and battery charge, it's just as important for us to take time to recharge our batteries.
Burnout rates are continuing at a steady pace across the world for many executives and professionals in the work force. Many notable authors, including Stephen Covey advocate taking time to recharge and rejuvinate our body, mind and spirit. Covey calls this Sharpening the Saw. Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz also credit downtime or recovery as part of full engagement and peak performance.
What recharges your batteries? What rejuvinates your body, mind and spirit? When did you last take time to replenish yourself?
My challenge for today to readers is to take time thinking about what are the things that will recharge your batteries. More importantly, I hope that you will create some time to recharge this week. Recharging can be as simple as reading a good book, getting to the gym for that class you have not made in a while, or enjoying nature during a walk.
I'd love to hear how you recharged this week, and what a difference it's made to your outlook.
